The Spring Classic (Classicissima di Primavera ) is coming up and for edition 2013 there’s a novelty, the Milan-San Remo will take place on Sunday March 17th , the race has been moved by the organizers for the first time from Saturday to Sunday.

The Milan-San Remo is a bike race that can count over a hundred editions, one of the biggest cycle classics and one of the one-day races mostly followed by passionates of this sport.

The departure from Milan  on Sunday morning will see the descent to the Riviera, the covering of 298km of roads and the toughest part will be faced just in the province of Imperia  with the climbs of Cipressa and Poggio, last  bastion before tackling the descent towards the mythical finishing line which even for 2013 will be on the Promenade Italo Calvino, between the palm trees and the sea.

For all those who aren’t professional cyclists but want to emulate the legends of the two-wheels can face the route of the Milan-San Remo of March in the  GranFondo  Milano Sanremo  that is organized every year in June.

Sanremoinfiore 2013

On Sunday March 10,2013 there will be the parade of the flowered floats of San Remo, one of the most important and worldwide famous event of the Flower Riviera.

Sanremoinfiore 2013 chosed as this year’s theme “l’uomo nello spazio” (man in space), the floats participating will be 10, each belonging to a municipality of the province of Imperia:  Golfo Dianese ” A spasso nel tempo”, Riva Ligure “Allunaggio!!! Ar…riva (Ligure) Buzz Lightyear”, Bordighera “Apollo 10″, Ventimiglia “Aspettando il ritorno”, Taggia “Avatar”, Santo Stefano al mare “Futurama”, Dolceacqua “Liguri nello spazio”,  Seborga “Alla conquista di nuovi pianeti“,  Ospedaletti “Passeggiata …tra i pianeti”, Vallecrosia “Verso l’infinito e oltre”.

The floats, completely decorated with the flowers of the Flower Rivier, will parade along the Calvino Promenade, Piazzale Dapporto, ex Railway  Station, cycle path parallel to Via Nino Bixio reaching Vittorio Veneto Gardens.

Sanremoinfiore will take place from 10.00 to 13.30 and the event will be broadcasted by channel Rai 1 during the TV program Linea Verde.

On Saturday March 9th and Sunday March 10th  there will be many side events in the city of San Remo,  in the Pigna of San Remo will take place the fair Pigna & Wine, in the Cassini and Nota squares and in Colombo square you can visit for the entire weekend many craft markets,  while in the area near San Siro square you can visit the monthly Antiques market .

San Remo Festival 2013

Sanremo 2013

The 63rd edition of the Festival of the Italian Song of San Remo is warming up its engines and like every year there’s a lot of talking about it.

From February 12 to February 15 the spotlights will be pointed on the Ariston Theater and  on the city of San Remo in its wholeness as the festival lives on and off the stage, by day and by night.

The San Remo Festival 2013 will be presented by Fabio Fazio and it will see the participation of 14 artists,  the so called Big, Almamegretta, Annalisa Scarrone, Chiara Galiazzo, Daniele Silvestri, Elio and Le Storie Tese, Malika Ayane, Marco Mengoni, Maria Nazionale, Marta sui Tubi, Max Gazzè, Modà, Raphael Gualazzi, Simona Molinari and Peter Cincotti, Simone Cristicchi, that will sing 2 new, unreleased songs.

The  Junior Singers will be 8, Andrea Nardinocchi, Antonio Maggio, Blastema, Il Cile, Ilaria Porceddu, Irene Ghiotto, Paolo Simoni and Renzo Rubino, their songs and their videos are already on the web,  like the past years.

Like every year, many novelties during the show and secrets yet to be revealed like the pesons that will accompany Fabio Fazio on the Ariston stage and the guests that will step in during the week.

Billiard: San Remo Casino Trophy 2013

There will soon be the San Remo Casino Trophy of Billard, from January 11 to January 27, 2013 at the gambling house, a grand return for all-level players and for the fans of this game that in 2007 and 2008 took place at the “Gran Premio Città di Sanremo”. 

In the halls of the Casino of San Remo will be played the Italian League Master, the Master Goriziana and the Italian League of  boccette.

San Remo Chess 2013

The international Chess Festival is back in San Remo for the second edition.

From January 26 to February 3 2013 , the Flower City will be the ufficial seat of the San Remo Chess 2013.

The history of the city of San Remo has always had an important collaboration with the chess world, in fact in 1911 the Riviera was the scene of the first international tournament ever organized in Italy, in 1930 there was one of the most famous world championship that entered in the chess legend of all times.

Tango Festival of San Remo  2012

Gran appointment in arrival on September 28-29 e 30 2012 for all the passionates of the Argentine Tango, it will take place in San Remo the fourth edition of the Tango Festival, an appointment that is renewed every year  and the edition 2012 can boast a  cast and locations of  the highest level.

San Remo Rallye 2012

Appointment in the City of Flowers  with the 54th edition of the San Remo Rally, on October 10-13 2012, European FIA Cup, Italian Rally Championship and Italian trainings series FIA “Intercontinental Rally Challenge”.
For the city of San Remo, this appointment represents one of the most important events of the year, a milestone in the calendar of the sport events of the Riviera, a date to remember for all the passionates of car racings.
The special trials of the San Remo Rally always take place in the hinterlands of San Remo and province, the most evocative stages are the ones that touch Mount Ceppo, passo Teglia, Colle Langan…  rough and wild places, full of technical difficulties  that put in the spotlight the most skillfull and daring pilots.
The special trials will take place on Friday 12 and Saturday 13, a Rally Village will be set up inside the Service Park in Carlo Dapporto Square and Lungomare Italo Calvino.

Giraglia Rolex Cup 2012 with arrival at San Remo

The edition 2012 of the Giraglia Rolex Cup, which touched its 60th edition, will take place between San Remo and Saint Tropez from June 8 to June 16 2012. The arrival will be right in the City of Flowers that in the past years has strongly wanted to restore this historic and prestigious international sailing competition.
The name Giraglia, given to the competition, comes from a small rock in front of the Corsica which is located at the northern edge of the Ile de Beauté which is used as a turning point for the regatta, doubled the ships will sail for San Remo.

San Remo is Blue Flag 2012

The summer of 2012 for the city of San Remo will be marked by the Blue Flag, this important banner was awarded to the City of Flowers by the Foundation for environmental education (Fee) in collaboration with  Enel Sole.

The Blue Flag has been assigned  to Italian locations overlooking sea and lakes that stand out for the high quality of the touristic offer combined with a good environmental education and for the land management.

The Liguria region excels over the rest of Italy with 18 locations, totalizing 246 blue flags for 2012,  13 more of 2011, a positive fact that awards the effort and the care of the Italian tourist offer.

The city of San Remo welcomed positively the news of the Blue Flag that nationally sees recognized for 2012  the great tourist vocation of the territory awarded with this important standard of quality and excellence.
