San Remo Chess 2012: the City of Flowers welcomes the international chess tournament

After the success of the last year, returns to San Remo the “San Remo Chess 2012″.
From January 5 to January 8 2012, the City of Flowers will become once again the center of an international chess tournament, with the ambition of becoming a steady reference point for Italian and foregin amateurs.
San Remo boasts an exceptional blazon in the chess world since 1930 when it hosted the world championship that became legend with  the victory of  Alexander Alekhine. It was the biggest tournament  ever organized in Italy and one of the most important event in the international scene of that period to which almost all the best players participated. The tournament, which took place in the Casino, saw the victory of the world Champion with an almost unbeatable performance of14 wins over 15 matches.
Thanks to the Imperia Chess Circle that created a prestigious association with this fascinating discipline organizing the most durable national tournament – this year the International Chess Festival of Imperia has reached its 53rd edition – San Remo is back to host the Chess Festival.
The official seat of the event is the Nyala Suite Hotel in via Solaro 134. Moreover, the Nyala Wonder Travel, strong of its decennial experience, arranges the accomodation of the partecipates and takes care of  the promotion and the communication outside the traditional chess world.
