Sailing competions in the Gulf of San Remo

The month of May offers important sport events for the passionates of the sea and sailing in the Gulf of the Flower City.

The  Yacht Club of San Remo organizes on  Thursday May 17th the San Remo Mini Solo, a suggestive yacht race in solo towards the French  Porquerolles Islands.

The weekend May 18-19 instead will see the dispute of a race doubly interesting, Vela & Sapori (Sailing &Savours), a combination that will see the duel of the sailboats and the chefs on board, in a twofold challenge between wind in their sails and pots and pans!

Nice Jazz Festival 2012

From July 8 to July 12 2012 there will be the historic music event, the Nice Jazz Festival,  a grand stage known worldwide where the most talented jazz artists have performed during the past years.

Harp Festival of Isolabona

The sixteenth edition of the Harp Festival (Festival delle Arpe) of Isolabona will take place from July 26 to July 28 2012, under the artistic direction of Vicenzo Zitello, famous Italian poet of the Celtic harp.

The 2012 edition will take place in the honour  of Pepi Morgia, recently deceased and unforgettable creator and director of the famous muscial edition, an unicum in the province of Imperia that knew through the years to attract the attention and creat a space of excellence in the summer of Riviera.

The edition 2012 of the International Harp Festival of Isolabona edited a wide program and interesting program, Thursday July 26  at 9 pm will be on the scene Girotondo delle Arpe, (ensemble of celtic harps), and Nuance Voce and Jazz Harp.

Friday July 27 the evening will  open with the Duo Millemiglia, (classic harp and fisarmonica) and Cecilia Chailly (classic harp), always after 9 pm.

On Saturday July 28 luglio it will take place the si terrà la Consegna del Premio alla diffusione dell’arpa “PEPI MORGIA“ 2012 to: Anna Pasetti, Arpista Musicologa and president of the association of the Italian harp, Emanuela Degli Esposti classic harp and to Vincenzo Zitello, Celtic harp and Bardica.

San Remo Summer 2012

For all those who choose to pass the summer holidays on the Flower Riviera and in particular in San Remo, the range of events scheduled for summer 2012 is rich and varied and it meets all, good music, theater, cultural appointments and pure fun.

The important places of the city where the events will take place, will be all involved, starting from Piazza Borea d’Olmo, which has become the pulsing heart of all the San Remo events, then Piazza Colombo, the Porto, Piazza San Siro, the Pigna with all its squares and areas, Corso Imperatrice, San Martino.

Many will be the music events with the concerts of the Symphony Orchestra, giving space also to local bands,  Jazz, Rock in the Pigna…..

The theater will show the shades of the dialect festival “Nini Sappia”, of the theater for children, grand cultural appointment with the literature review of Cafè Venezuela in Piazza Borea d’Olmo.

Cinema under the Stars, touring shows, fashion and beauty nights … every evening a different event and on September 15 a grand end of summer party with the  Notte Bianca, an appointment that is renewed annually and that is a great success each year.

Memorial Orlando Regatta

It will take place on Tuesday  August 14 2012 the Regatta Memorial Orlando, race organized by the Yacht Club San Remo that celebrates with this competition near Midsummer Holiday (Ferragosto) the great festival of the sea.

A regatta dedicated to all, adults and children where the competition gives way to the fun to go by sea. Many young people partecipate to this event each year to test their sailing skills learned at the summer courses.

The regatta finishes with a great party followed by the traditional Midsummer fireworks of San Remo over Porto Vecchio.

From Saturday  July 7 in Liguria there will the opening of the big show of the summer sales and the city of San Remo certainly can’t miss the appointment.

Harp Festival of Isolabona

San Remo is Blue Flag 2012

The summer of 2012 for the city of San Remo will be marked by the Blue Flag, this important banner was awarded to the City of Flowers by the Foundation for environmental education (Fee) in collaboration with  Enel Sole.

The Blue Flag has been assigned  to Italian locations overlooking sea and lakes that stand out for the high quality of the touristic offer combined with a good environmental education and for the land management.

The Liguria region excels over the rest of Italy with 18 locations, totalizing 246 blue flags for 2012,  13 more of 2011, a positive fact that awards the effort and the care of the Italian tourist offer.

The city of San Remo welcomed positively the news of the Blue Flag that nationally sees recognized for 2012  the great tourist vocation of the territory awarded with this important standard of quality and excellence.

Gran Fondo Milan-San Remo 2012

It will take place on Sunday June 10 2012 the 42nd editon of the  Gran Fondo Milan – San Remo, amateur cycle race that covers the distance of 290 km  of the Classicissima (Spring Classic) of March.

To know more about the route, mode and timetables for arrival e departure, you can visit the website of the Gran Fondo,  the edition 2011 registered the participation of over 1000 cyclists that with enthusiasm, preparation and tenacity crossed the route of the race facing the crossing of three regions: Lombardy, Piedmont and Liguria and climbed the Turchino, the slopes of  Cipressa and  of Poggio.

The arrival in the City of Flowers is scheduled for Sunday afternoon June 10, it will be an exciting finish line especially for amateurs that will live the same experiences of the grand champions of the two wheels.

International Horse Show-jumping Contests Sanremo

It will take place in the month of June 2012  the International Horse Contest CSI 2 Stars at the Solaro Horse Pitch  (Campo Ippico) of San Remo, more precisely during the weekends  of June  15-17 and June 22-24.

A steeplechase horse competion well established in the tradition of San Remo  which sees every year the participation of  skillful horsemen and quoted horsewomen for all the categories, both Juniors and Seniors.

The participants of the CSI 2 stars come from an international scene and their presence confirm the fact that the  Horse Pitch  (Campo ippico) of San Remo is one of the most prestigous  squares of the sector.
